A Letter to My Future Customer

Hello beautiful,

The desire to be socially responsible is becoming a staple in every aspect of life including the fashion industry. Instead of shying away, we at aida zardoost realize the steps we can take in doing our part. We are investors in the present and future we want to build. By buying slowly, for the long haul, and using slowly and meaningfully, we are actively questioning the current system of disposable objects with built-in obsolescence and creating awareness about the environment.

Born out of the ambition to create and make responsibly, we produce small limited editions of clothing incorporating environmental and socially responsible production into the core. We start by purchasing biodegradable textiles that don’t require chemical fertilizers or pesticides which results in linen that is high quality, natural material. There is no production of new material during this process because we think it’s important to use fabric that already exists. The fabric is then sent to a female-founded and operated studio where each article is crafted with love and time through the “slow production” process. Another minimal process used in the production is “small batch” clothing which means that in having a limited quantity of each article of clothing we are able to avoid overproduction and sweatshops.

The commitment it takes to produce ethically sustainable clothing is equivalent to the commitment it takes to buying items that are ethically sustainable and I thank you for that. We believe in making items meaningfully, consciously, and responsibly. It might not be perfect, but we are making small steps- just like you. I thank you for taking the time, money, initiative, and ambition needed to live a conscious life.

Until next time,
Aida Zardoost
